Chris James Electrical is run by Chris James McMahon, a qualified electrician and NICEIC approved domestic installer. Chris prides himself on the quality of his work, ensuring that your home is left as we found it, for example by plastering walls which are disturbed by electrical rewiring, replacing floorboards and generally tidying up after ourselves.
Registration with the NICEIC ensures that not only is our work regulated, but that we can offer an Insurance Backed Warranty which covers any work undertaken up to £25,000 in respect of any one installation per period of insurance. The warranty is valid for a period of six years from the date of completion of the original work. Chris also has £2 million worth of Public Liability Insurance.
The NICEIC operates an independent complaints procedure governing the technical standards of electrical installation of its Approved Contractor and Domestic Installer Schemes. If the electrical work of a registered contractor is found to be below the accepted technical standard, NICEIC requires the contractor to correct the work, at no additional cost to the customer. NICEIC is concerned solely with the safety and technical standard of the electrical work carried out by Approved Contractors, and the standard of certification and periodic inspection reports which Approved Contractors are responsible for producing.
Chris James Electrical are also Part P/ 17th Edition registered, a legal requirement which is a pre-requisite for registration with the NICEIC and ensures that we are trained to rigorous standards. British Standard BS 7671 – also known as the IEE (Institute of Electrical Engineering) wiring regulations or 17th Edition, details the requirements for electrical installations.
